When pregnant and on medicaid, can you choose any hospital or are limited to a few for the birth?

I am applying for medicaid and wasn't sure how it works. I was wondering if you can choose any hospital or do they give you a limited selection for maternal care and the birth? I am in the state of Virginia by the way if that matters.
