How can I get my parents to see that social interaction is irrational, and I should be left alone?

actually, anybody that's doing a lot of contributions to today's society will tell you that social interactions is VERY important. For example, if you want to be involved in making great contributions to computer industry, you'll need to form collaborations with other people. You cannot do a project by yourself and expect that project to be significant. That would be like a person single-handily trying to run Microsoft. Unless you invent bunch of robots to help you...it just ain't possible. Back in 1970s you could have done it, but now with today's complex technologies, you need to form a social network to work together.
