Does your Parental Genes dictate at what age you will start having a major growth spurt ?

It's just that im 16 and kind of confused. Most of the people I know( whose ages are from 14-17) are taller than their parents. I on the other hand am still shorter than my father who is 5'10 and of the same height of my mother who is 5'5. My father told me he was of the same height as me when he was my age, only when he was about 17 and experienced rigorous training in the service did he had an extreme growth spurt. Ive only grown about 2-3 inches since i was 13. not really a major spurt huh?. would my time table in growth be the same as my father's? would i also out grow my parents when i reach my peak? my paternal grandpa was 5'11 and my maternal grandpa was about 5'6, most of my cousin's also reached that almost 6 feet height. One cuz of mine is 6'2 and the tallest is 6'4. yet thr fathers r shorter than my dad. my cuzns r in their 20's now , if that information would be of any help.
